This site is operated by a small number of volunteers currently in Southern Ontario who share an interest in family memory.

In 1996, a few members of the Martin clan who shared an interest in Family history, gathered in Hamilton to share information and create projects on which they could usefully work together.

The first meeting included Florence Martin, Jane Rigby, Martin Luxton, Douglas Martin, Fred Martin and Kerry Martin. In a short time the group formed a committee to be called "Descendants of the Reverend Richard Martin (1797-1878)".

It was agreed to update the Archer Martin genealogy which was published in 1890 and immediately plans were made to create and continually update a mailing list. A series of annual newsletters were to be sent to the mailing list group.

It was the hope of the committee that future generations would carry on updating and extending this genealogical record.

Whats new for 2011!

Today the committee members cover several generations and much progess on the groups goals have been made. We are working on updating the genealogical record known as the "Jane Rigby Family Geneology" from May, 2000. We strive to have an annual newsletter that helps everyone keep in touch. We are also excitedly working on collecting and preserving audio recordings and videos of the elder members of our clan and putting them on our website. We have always looking for other ways of gathering and sharing information with all that are intersted in their family history - if you would like to help in anyway we would love to hear from you.

Our next newsletter will be mailed out soon. If we somehow missed you on past mailings and you would like to receive a copy of our next issue you can e-mail us at:
